Mr. Joseph Sean was nice enough to wait until my parents got here to make his appearance. Like I said in an earlier post my parents got here early morning of the 7th of February. Joe and I usually have a date night on Saturday and since we knew we would have our baby before the 14th we celebrated Valentines day early. First, we parked our car.. and went to the 5th Avenue Mall in Anchorage. We walked and walked and walked around the Mall. As you can see we are one exciting couple! We decided that we would go to Build a bear workshop and make the baby a bear. I have never done that before so that was an interesting experience. We went to Gymboree. We then continued to walk. I was 38 weeks (almost 39) pregnant at the time.. and walking was KILLING ME. We decided that we would go to the Glacier Brewhouse for dinner. We had a gift card! So.. what did we do? We walked the 5 blocks or whatever it was to the Restaurant. Let me tell you, by the time we got there I was having regular contractions and I hurt SO bad. But, they went away. Joe and I shared the Prime Rib and Lobster dinner. I still think the best part of the meal was the Creme Brulee. Have you ever had it? I loved it! After the meal we had to walk back to the parking garage, but I REALLY didn't want to. So, Guess what was waiting outside the restaurant when we came outside? There was a horse drawn Carriage! We paid 15 bucks to go 5 blocks or whatever, but it was better than walking and dying or something. From the parking garage we went to Century 16. Its a movie Theater for all you non-Alaskans. We went and saw While in Rome. I liked the movie, it was pretty fun, and I had a good time. Joe probably didn't, but I did! By the time the movie was over we had to get over to the Airport to pick my parents up. I was so happy to see my parents! It was great being with them and having them here for 3 weeks. I wish they could have stayed longer! Anyways, we got back home to Wasilla around 2 am Sunday Morning. We didn't make it to church the next morning. It was at 9am. We had a pretty laid back day. I took a nap.. and I had a nice shower. Then around Dinner time I was having contractions again. These didn't go away. They grew in intensity. Around 10pm I finally decided that it wasn't false labor and we called the Hospital to let them know that we were coming. That car ride to the hospital seemed REALLY long with contractions coming about ever 2.5 and 3 minutes. And It was Snowing.. a lot. I got checked out at the hospital and they decided that I could stay since was 5-6 cm. They thought that since I was going so fast (it really didn't seem that fast!) that I might not get my epidural. BUT, I got it. -- Funny story... While I was getting my epidural my wonderful husband, JOE, FAINTED. Kinda great, right? I'm getting poked in the back, Joe falls into me.. and then I have a nice contraction while I'm trying to hold him up so he doesn't fall on the floor! Poor guy, I still tease him about that. -- And then everything kind of came at a slower pace. And then.. My blood pressure went REALLY LOW... and they gave me medication for that.. more than once. I think I got like 4 or 5 shots of that medication to bring my blood pressure back up to the Normal range. It all worked out though. I labored all night... I didn't get much sleep. My mom had previously taken a sleeping pill before she came to the hospital and was asleep on the couch in my room snoring away. That kept me up, but its all good! At around 8:05am (I think that's the time.. ) on February 8th I started pushing. I was pushing fine and everything... but then the baby's heart rate started to decel a little, so the doctor wanted him out a lot faster. After that it took 2 pushes and he was out. At this point I don't remember if Joe was watching cause he had to sit down a few times so he didn't faint again. He was 9lbs 11oz and 21 inches. He had the cord wrapped around his neck, but after the cord was gone he cried big time. Joe cut the cord.. AND didn't faint! He came out with MINIMAL DAMAGE! Yay! I had No problem sitting... or anything really. I had an easy recovery.
All in all, I do think the walking the day before really did help, even if it was killing me at the time. Sean is perfect. Hes a BIG boy, just the way we like 'em. He is a joy to have in our family and I for one look forward to watching him grow. This is seriously late, since hes supposed to be having his 2 month appointment next week!

Hello!
Hey! I know its been awhile since I've posted anything worth while. Anyways.. here is what we have been up to... (I'll just start from the new year...)
In January I turned 28. woohoo!
On February 7th my parents came up from St. George, Utah to see us. I was 38 weeks pregnant. We planned it just right cause on February 8th I had Joseph Sean, Jr. He was 9lbs 11oz and 21 inches. I still have a hard time believing that I had baby that big.. cause I thought it would do some serious damage! It wasn't bad. He's perfect, and he is growing. I will have to post the exciting birth story sometime soon. My parents were here in Alaska for 3 weeks total. I was realllllly sad to see them go, cause we don't get to see each other much. I miss being able to see my family all time time! I guess we need to start saving some money so we can get down Utah sometime soon! The week after my parents left and Joe went back to work we had Spring break. Jaydon and Carson brought home some nasty cold and guess what! We ALL got it. Jaydon had it first. Then Carson. Kelcey was the next, and then it was both Sean and I at the same time. Sean is doing very well now that he doesn't have to sleep with his head elevated and everything. I have been sick for the past 3 weeks, and.. I am finally getting over the SINUS INFECTION I didn't think I had. A couple of days ago when my cheek bones were aching it finally clicked. I still don't have my voice back totally. BUT I do feel better.
Joe and I have decided that we didn't want to have any more babies... 4 is a GREAT number. Our family is complete. That brings us to the latest fun news. Joe had a little "procedure" done on Friday. He is sore, but doing good! Joe has told me that it wasn't a little procedure. It was big.
Life is going great. Kids are happy and Healthy. The snow is melting! SPRING IS COMING! Anyways, I hope to write more a little later. I have to go rescue Joe from the screaming baby. I will post some pictures and stuff sometime this week, I hope.

My appointment
Well, I had my 5 month appointment with my doctor yesterday. It went well.. I got to hear the baby's heart beat and for the first time after going to Dr. Fitzgerald I didn't need to have an ultrasound. It's a good thing. The reason I had so many ultrasounds was because of the bleed I had.
Anyways, when we were listening for the heartbeat the baby was like on top of one of my blood vessels or something. So, I got to hear my heartbeat right along with the baby's. It was pretty cool, but kinda weird at the same time. I got a couple of prescriptions, too- I got an antibiotic for a sinus infection and Flonase for my nose! Last night I slept really good! :) Baby is looking good!
After I went and got my prescriptions filled I went to cub scouts. We were selling popcorn! We sold quite a bit and it was a lot of fun. Next week we will be selling again. We also have our pack meeting next week. I'm slowly learning all this cub scout stuff, cause I am fairly new to it all. It has been fun though.
Just thought that I would give a quick update... I'm going to try and take some more pictures and post them.. I have been lazy with the picture taking!

Week 20 - Introducing Joseph Sean, JR.
On Monday the 28th we had our "big" ultrasound. It was really exciting!
WE ARE HAVING A BOY!!!
Joe met me at the Ultrasound place. Since he works in Anchorage, it just worked out easier this way. We took Kelcey cause she listens wayyy better than the boys, and the boys were in School. We had grandma pick Carson up from school when it was time.
The baby was really active when the ultrasound first started. And then all the sudden... that all stopped and the baby fell asleep! He sure is an active little guy. He was totally relaxed, too- He had his ankles crossed and his hands up by his head. It was a lot of fun getting to see him and everything, and I'm excited for him to come! We went and got him a little outfit and everything at Target. Its a Cute outfit.. the onesie part has a tow truck towing a car and it says.. "Big Joe's Towing Service (Rain or shine)" I think Joe wanted it cause it said Joe. Joe is totally excited for this little guy!
Jaydon was a little disappointed when we told him that he was going to have another little brother instead of another little sister. His reaction was.. "What? Are you sure?"
Joe really wanted this baby to be named after him. He just wants to call the baby "Junior" I think. But I dont want to call him Junior... So It's either Little Joe or Sean.. What do you think?
I will try and keep this blog updated more often.. it just seems that time gets away from me all too fast. I have my 5 month appointment today, and I'll let you know how it goes..
Here are the pictures from the Ultrasound! enjoy
